Hobby Market is a prediction-market game. Every question on the board is a real market on Polymarket — elections, sports, crypto, pop culture — with its live odds mirrored here. You bet with play coins (¢), your bets settle on the real-world outcome, and your winnings buy packs of real football player cards to collect. Then you take your friends on in private competitions.

• 1,000 ¢ when you sign up (after verifying your email).
• Daily gift: 200 ¢ a day, growing 10 % per consecutive day up to 2× (400 ¢). Claim it on your profile.
• Free pack: 3 players from any league every 6 hours, in the shop.
• A red dot on your avatar in the header means a gift or a free pack is waiting.
• Winning bets pay 100 ¢ per share; losing shares pay 0. Selling early locks in whatever the market says right now.

Each market has two outcomes priced in cents that add up to ~100 — the price is the crowd's probability. A Yes share at 30 ¢ pays 100 ¢ if Yes happens, so you risk 30 to win 70. You always trade against the house at Polymarket's live price plus a 1 ¢ spread, and you can sell back any time at the current bid.

• Board: the most-traded markets in each category, with filters — Polymarket tags (Sports → Soccer → Champions League), ending within N hours, in-play only, underdog / favourite price bands, text, sort — that you can ★ save as favorites (searches too). ⚡ Soon: markets ending within hours, including 5-minute crypto up/down windows. 🔴 Live: in-play sports you can trade during the game.
• Search reaches every Polymarket market — add any of them to the board with one click.
• Markets trade between 2 ¢ and 98 ¢; once an outcome is effectively known, trading closes.
• Settlement is Polymarket's decision, not ours. When their oracle finalises a result (often within an hour or two of the event) winners are paid automatically; a market that's cancelled there refunds what you paid. The status pill on a market shows open → resolving → resolved.

Cards are real players from six leagues — 🇮🇱 Ligat Ha'Al, 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Premier League, 🇪🇸 La Liga, 🇮🇹 Serie A, 🇩🇪 Bundesliga, 🇫🇷 Ligue 1 — built from Wikipedia squad lists. Every card has a FIFA-style 1–99 rating and six stats (PAC · SHO · PAS · DRI · DEF · PHY) shaped by the player's position.

• Ratings come from star power: how many people read about the player on Wikipedia (English plus the league's home language), month after month, and in how many languages they have an article. A one-off transfer-rumour spike doesn't move it.
• Every player has a normal card. The stars also get one boosted version: legendary (top 3 %, +10 OVR), epic (next 9 %, +6) or rare (next 28 %, +3). Each copy carries a serial number.

The Arena is where your cards play. Every game is priced from the ratings like a bet — you see the probability and the odds before you stake — and decided instantly by a deterministic engine on the server, so nobody can replay a result. Empty slots are filled by academy trainees rated 40, so a first free pack is enough to start.

• Match Day: five-a-side (GK, DF, MF, MF, FW) against a house team from Sunday League to Legends, played decision by decision — a possession climbs the pitch rung by rung (own half → midfield → final third → the box), and every option prints its chance, what a success buys, what a failure costs and its energy cost. Without the ball you call the press, hold the block, sit deep, man-mark or set the offside trap; in the box you pick the tackle, bodies in the way, or trust the keeper. Chances come from the players involved (your playmaker's PAS against their DEF, your striker's SHO against their keeper), the shapes, posture, momentum and energy — pressing and sprinting spend it, keeping the ball and sitting deep recover it, and tired legs lose duels late on. What follows is football — saved shots become corners, rash tackles penalties, a second yellow a red. A card is worth what its position asks for, less out of position; same club or league adds chemistry. Set tactics for the moments you don't play yourself. Stake on the win (a draw refunds) or play a friendly.
• Penalty Shootout: five takers against a bot keeper. Each shot scores with 60 % ± the gap between the taker's SHO and the keeper. Call at least 3, at least 4, or a perfect 5.
• Top Trumps: five rounds — you pick the card and the stat, the bot's hand is hidden. Higher wins, ties go to the house, three rounds take it.
• Head-to-head: post a Match Day with your five and tactics — for a wager or a friendly — or accept someone's (challenge anyone from their profile). Stakes are fair both ways: the acceptor's stake is proportioned to the two teams' chances, so the stronger side risks more to win the same pot. The match is played on both tactics the moment it's accepted and both of you can replay it; the winner takes both stakes, a draw refunds, and an Elo ladder keeps score (wagers only). No house margin.
• Bot games carry a 7 % margin in the odds — the Arena is a coin sink like packs, not a money printer.

A competition is a contained contest with friends. The host sets a time window, the starting pot every member gets (kept apart from your main wallet), and the rules: which markets (categories, then Polymarket tags to narrow it — Sports → Soccer → Champions League; in-play only; ending within a few hours), how to bet (underdogs cap or favourites floor, min/max stake, max bets per player, no selling) and a blind mode that hides everyone's bets until the end. One-click game modes fill these in. Members join with an invite code, up to 50 per competition.

• On any market page, pick Bet with: Main wallet / 🏆 competition. Rule violations are explained before you click.
• Standings rank net worth inside the competition: pot plus the current value of open bets.
• Optional entry fee from your main wallet — the pool goes to whoever leads at the deadline: winner takes all, or a podium split 60 / 30 / 10.
• When the window closes, open bets are cashed out at the current price and the standings are final.
• Competitions can't be edited once created — everyone plays under the rules they joined. Fee-free ones can be deleted by the host.
• In a long competition the host can add funds to everyone — the same amount to every pot (late joiners included), so busted players get back in without anyone being favoured.
• Global competitions, run by the house and open to everyone, are coming.

• Your profile shows net worth, realized profit with a 30-day chart, open bets, best cards, competitions and followers. Pick an emoji avatar and colour there.
• Follow anyone to keep an eye on their bets and collection.
• The leaderboard ranks realized profit today and this week, and all-time net worth (coins + open positions). Competition bets stay inside their competition and don't count here.

Everything the app shows is available as JSON, Polymarket-style: markets with live prices, history, leaderboards, profiles, the card catalog, pack odds — and, with a personal API key, trading: buy and sell shares by token id like on Polymarket's CLOB (fill-or-kill against the house), your positions, fills, packs and competitions. Can I buy coins or cash out?

No. There is no way in or out — that's what keeps it a game.

I ran out of coins.

Claim the daily gift, open the free pack, sell a position you no longer like, or wait for open bets to settle. Streaks grow the gift.

My winning bet hasn't paid out.

Payouts follow Polymarket's official result, which can take a while after the event (the market shows resolving meanwhile). It lands automatically.

Why did trading close before the end date?

Either Polymarket closed the market or the price left the tradeable band because the outcome is effectively known. Live sports keep trading past kick-off.

A player is rated wrong / missing.

Ratings are computed from public attention, not ability, and squads come from Wikipedia — a missing player usually means a missing squad entry there. Cards refresh between seasons.

Can I change a competition after creating it?

No — that would be unfair to people who joined. Create a new one instead.
